  • EVOLVABLE ADAS: H-GQM S.M.A.R.T.E.S.T. APPROACH

    D.E. Chickrin, А. А. Egorchev, D.V. Ermakov
    2020-07-20
    Abstract ▼

The introduction to the mass market of vehicles with an ADAS 3+ level of automation is expected
in the early 2020s. Currently, the vast majority of automakers conduct research in this
field, a fairly large number of prototypes, pre-production and production systems have already
been demonstrated. ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) are complex hardware & software
systems, the feature of which is that the core hardware platform remains unchanged for one or
even several generations of vehicles (5–7 years). At the same time, the system should be able to
transform and evolve to correct errors and expand functionality, especially due to active development
of sensory peripheral systems and software algorithms. The GQM methodology and its modifications
are used to support the development process of complex systems and evaluate them.
However, these methodologies are limited exclusively to software products. Also, authors of these
methodologies are not addressing explicitly the issues of applying the GQM methodology for analyzing
and tracking the process of evolution of complex technical systems. This paper presents HGQM
(Hardware GQM) methodology for controllable evolution of complex automotive hardware
& software systems. The H-GQM methodology is based on GQM and is aimed at hardwaresoftware
systems with a monolithic hardware core, a modifiable software core and atomic peripherals.
Entity harmonization process is described to prove the applicability of the GQM for software-
and-hardware systems analysis. S.M.A.R.T.E.S.T goal-setting concept is proposed for choice
of evolutionary goals. This concept is based on S.M.A.R.T. criteria for the setting objectives of
business processes and extended with harmonization and evolvability restrictions. The formulation
of the H-GQM plan framework is provided using ADAS as an example. Within the framework of
the proposed methodology, an ADAS-specific scalable target template has been formed.

  • PROBLEM OF MULTI-CRITERIA OPTIMIZATION OF SELECTION OF AN UNPREPARED HELIDROM

    P.G. Ermakov
    2025-01-14
    Abstract ▼

The problem of multi-criteria optimization of the choice of an unprepared helidrom to plant the
unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) helicopter type on it is considered in this article. The problem of multi -
criteria optimization of the choice of an unprepared helidrom is formalized based on satisfying requirements
of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to an unprepared helidrom by mi nimizing
the original loss function taking into account the following data: the probability of availability
of an unprepared helidrom, the probability of failure of the UAV’s helicopter type onboard system, the
error of a digital elevation map (DEM) positional information, the error of the UAV’s helicopter type
coordinates information and the technical characteristics of the UAV helicopter type. It is proposed to
determine the suitability of an unequipped helidrom based on the maximum height of terrain elements
of it’s surface using statistical processing of a lidar earth scanning data. The mathematical formulations
of the problem of decision-making on UAV helicopter type landing are proposed based on requirements
for an unprepared helidrom in terms of maximum height of terrain elements and soil hardness.
The comparison of the computational time of algorithms of the choice of an unprepared helidrom
is completed using Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. The result of a simulation modelling of the proposed opt imal
algorithm of the choice of an unprepared helidrom for the estimation of its ef ficiency under conditions
of variability of parameters of the probabilistic loss function using OpenStreetMap and SRTM is
presented. The result of solving the problem of decision-making on UAV helicopter type landing based
on a lidar earth scanning data is presented

  • INTRODUCTION TO MELLIN OPERATOR THEORY AND SOME OF ITS APPLICATIONS IN SIGNAL PROCESSING

    А. М. Makarov, А.S. Ermakov
    2024-01-05
    Abstract ▼

Integral transformations have played an important role in the development of the theory and
its applications for processing information-bearing processes. Mathematically, integral transformations
map the space of the original variable into a new space of a new variable, that is, they
map sets of elements of the space of the "many into one" type. In signal theory, the integral Fourier
transform has been widely used not only as a representation of signals, but also in their spectral
analysis. The Hilbert integral transformation served as a development of the theory of digital representation
of broadband signals. The paper discusses the theory of the integral Mellin transform,
which is not as well known as the previous ones, for its use in signal processing and interference,
as well as some problems of an applied nature in signal theory. We presented the theory of spectral
correlation analysis of random processes in the basis of the integral Mellin transform. In particular, a theorem (analogous to the Wiener-Hinchin theorem for the Fourier transform) is proved
on its basis on the relationship of the correlation function of noise in the basis of the Fourier
transform with the spectral density of noise power in the basis of the Mellin transform. These results
can be used as the basis for the synthesis of signal processing algorithms against interference
in the basis of the integral Mellin transform. Based on it, the functional structure of the signal
detector has been developed against the background of Gaussian noise with unknown a priori
correlation function and signal duration. It should be noted that the authors' work considers rather
complex mathematical calculations. For beginners who get acquainted with the integral
Mellin transformation, we recommend that you first familiarize yourself with the textbook.
