Abstract The acoustic echo-method is used for diagnostic of residual inner mechanical stresses in monocrystalline ingots, especially in gallium gadolinium garnets. The particular significance for experimental research has the identification of stressed states and their realization. The identification of stressed states and their diagnostic are carried out by using strings of multiple reverberations of ultrasonic pulses taking into account the peculiarities of their propagation. With residual mechanical stresses the path of ultrasonic beam propagation is not a straight-line, and form of the envelope of the set of multiple reverberations differs from damped exponential curve. The radial distribution of stressed states in diametric section perpendicular to compression forces is considered. The paths of ultrasonic pulses distribution for various coordinates of the beams entry into the sample are presented.
