Abstract The problems of digital processing ECG signals based on empirical modes decomposition are considered. It is proposed to form the interference estimate in the absence of the valid signal for improving the efficiency accurate of ECG signals processing and to combine the adaptive and non-parametric approaches to overcoming a priori uncertainty. Within such combining the method of accurate processing based on the application of adaptive signal decomposition into narrow-band frequency components and their non-parametric analysis is developed. An algorithm truncated empirical mode decomposition, which allows filtering ECG signals to real-time, is offered. It is proposed to use a rank detector for analysis of the empirical modes and detection informative intervals of ECG signals. Determining of the interference level on uninformative intervals empirical modes allows improving the accuracy of the threshold value calculation. Nonnegative Garrote is selected as a threshold function. The presented method and algorithms of digital processing ECG signals realized in the form of a virtual instrument in the environment of graphic programming of LabVIEW.
