Abstract The work describes television aerosol analyzers receiving basic geometric and optical parameters of controlled particles required for aerosol material composition identification in various projections. The developed image processing algorithm consists of image check for the particle presence, filtering, authenticated image using a median filter, background correction, edge enhancement particles, with automatic selection of binarization threshold, removal of fine particles from the image, particle painting, determination of particle boundaries, partitioning an existing image into pieces corresponding to each projection, particle check in each projection, the analysis and classification of geometric parameters for found particles. An example of a recognition process using MatLab is presented. The considered algorithm, as opposed to the existing ones, allows processing of multiple particle projections on a computer and receiving redundant morphological particle characteristics required for its accurate dentification.
