Abstract Comparative analysis of the fractal structure of heart rate based on registration and processing distal arterial pulse and ECG signal was considered. Relationship between fluctuation exponent of heart rate, determined by detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA), and the state of vascular regulation has been developed. This is allowed to obtain a diagnostic index of the human cardiovascular system.
